If you're using the bind backend, you can use stuff like dnslint to figure
out obvious or less obvious misconfigurations like this.
I'm not affiliated with powerdns (except as a user), but IMHO DNS zone
sanitizing is up to yourself. There are ample tools for the job, and
powerdns's task is just to serve the zones you create - so make sure they
are correct, before starting to serve them.
