Hi,

you should follow the guide https://doc.powerdns.com/md/authoritative/upgrading/ and follow the link to the 3.x documentation to follow all steps from your oldest to the newest version number. When reaching 3.4.x migration you're ready to upgrade PowerDNS to version 4.x.
