Hmm -- more trouble here:
$ pdns_control counts
Fatal error: Unable to connect to remote
'/var/run/pdns.controlsocket': Permission denied
jerryb1 at ubuntu:~/gramps2$ sudo pdns_control counts
After restartinf pdns, the syslog shows this:
Jan 18 12:06:30 localhost pdns[15472]: Listening on controlsocket in
'/var/run/pdns.controlsocket'
Jan 18 12:06:30 localhost pdns[15474]: Guardian is launching an instance
Jan 18 12:06:30 localhost pdns[15474]: Unable to launch, no backends
configured for querying
Jan 18 12:06:30 localhost pdns[15472]: Child requested a stop, exiting
Do I need a backend for strictly local (i.e. one system) operation?
If so, what's the simplest one to set up?
