'just do it'. In your case however there is a slight problem, both your
mysql master and server powerdns will consider themselves master or slave.

The trick is probably to have one of your pdns installations run passively,
without either 'master' or 'slave' in the configuration, and have the other
one be both.

List domains that you want to be master for as master, slave when you want
to be slave.

If you do it that way, life will be simple - your own slave won't undertake
any action. Third parties will only speak, or be spoken to, by your own
master.
