This was solved in commit
http://wiki.powerdns.com/projects/trac/changeset/570 and indeed 2.9.20-to-be
has no problem resolving this domain.

Yes, run http://svn.powerdns.com/snapshots/582/ or wait a few hours until we
release 2.9.20.
