Well I would do that (that's the desired option), but we host a lot of
CNAMEs and no amount of skip-cname tweaking seems to allow us to have
working zones.
Although PowerDNS returns the literal CNAME, it appears a lot of
nameservers don't like to do two queries - a lot of the domains hosted
on the server disappeared off the earth when it didn't return a
recursive lookup for the CNAME to accompany it.
