Yes, the SQL servers are on a separate boxes connected to each server via  
GiGE. It made sense to us when putting this thing together from both a  
security and management point of view to isolate the servers from the pds  
servers. A basic view of the network would look like this;


      MySQL Masters
           |
         PDNS 1 (IE)
------------------------
Pdns 2 (DE)        Pdns3 (USA)
   |                 |
MySQL 2           MySQL 3
   |                 |
   -VPN 2 Mysql Masters-
