Hi Georg

Contrary to your statement from July/August, replication using AXFR in
combination with guardian=yes works fine for me. I installed a pdns
master and a slave, both configured to use the bind backend.

my steps:
- - configure both pdns server
- - create a named.conf for both, one with "type master;" the other with
"type slave;"
- - copy the initial zone files to the slave (don't know if this is
necessary)
- - Make slave zone file and directory (!) writeable by pdns
- - change option to master=yes on master and slave=yes on slave
- - restart both

test the setup:
- - change the SOA record on the master
- - execute "pdns_control reload" on the master
=> new SOA record should appear within a minute on the slave
