Thank you, Dean. That is good advice.

Actually the Bison documentation is pretty good, once one engages the
patience to read it. That was how I learned enough to do what I
needed.

Now that I have been introduced to it I am convinced of the value of
parser generators, so since I surely will make use of them in the
future I really should read up on them more. So I appreciate your
recommendations and will look into them.
