I've tested the code on FreeBSD6 and it seems to work perfectly fine
with my standard axfr usage, transactions and all.

It also passes all regression tests, except the last

Fatal: Packet parsing error, out of bounds: vector::_M_range_check
Fatal: Packet parsing error, out of bounds: vector::_M_range_check
         Failed test too-big-for-udp-query

which seems to be broken on freebsd.
