Thanks a lot for the feedback! It might have been CVE-2025-30194 indeed, 
as we did not include any other significant change in 1.9.9. In 
hindsight I should have tried harder to get a core dump from FreeBSD in 
order to understand the root cause of your issue, because once we got 
one on Linux the bug became obvious. I'll keep that in mind, never rule 
out a bug quickly even if it looks like the problem might not be coming 
from dnsdist.
