Hi Pedro,

I've used resperf (part of the dnsperf set of tools) to load-test my recursors and measure the differences in capacity when making changes to different configurations and adding/removing resources.  See project on GitHub here: https://github.com/DNSPerf/dnsperf .

Hi Pedro,

There is always a bottleneck. Wether you notice it depends on the load against the system. You will notice it if your system drops packets from a certain load on. From there you can try to improve by tuning "things" 
such as Recursor config, NIC config, kernel parameter, firewall ...
