It suspect it is cloudfront returning different IPs to different 
clients, based on their network location (source IP address).

That is: the A records returned for d1zw9po81z9be0.cloudfront.net may be 
different depending on whether they see the query coming from your local 
cache (which is what happens when you query www.plate-assets.com), or 
from your authoritative server (when you are querying plate-assets.com, 
and it acts as a "client" when resolving the ALIAS record)
