Hi,
For checking our domains we try to use the dnscheck tool by iis.se. When we
run it against our authoritive nameservers it runs fine. But when we run it
against our recursor, things go terribly wrong. The dnscheck script just
runs on, without noticeable problems, but, resolving domains on the recursor
fails. The recursor responds with serv fail, and even nxdomain. A restart is
necessary to get it op and running again.
I increased the values for the number of mthreads, threads, and stack size
per mthread . Also Although it does seem to help; it does take longer for
the server to fail. But it doesn't fix it.
As I understand the only thing the dnscheck script does is run dig, nothing
funny.
We run the powerdns recursor, version 3.3 on a 64 bit Centos (6.0) OS, for
our authoritive nameservers we run version 2.9.22 on a 32 bit (5.6) OS.
Is this a bug, or am I missing something here?
Thanks for your help!
Regards,
Judith Mink
