Hi,
I have had a weird powerdns for some time now, i couldnt really find out
where the problem was.. it seemed so random.. but now it starts
borthering my too much :)
Now i have found a way to provoke the problem every time, and i found a
way to debug the problem away, but cannot find a stable solution, but i
think there might be something that i can do to my powerdns install in
order to get it to work..
Well first of all, when i make a query from my computer behind a firewall:
hollo at pjok:~$ host -a google.dk ns2.2fast.dk
i get a responsetime which is around 3 seconds before i query the dns
server, and then the response comes right away.
hollo at pjok:~$ host -a google.dk ns2.2fast.dk
Trying "google.dk"
Using domain server:
Name: ns2.2fast.dk
Address: 62.199.234.12#53

Received 277 bytes from 62.199.234.12#53 in 12 ms
If i try from a computer outside my firewall, its seems like the
response comes right away, i will only have to wait the expected 12 ms..
Then what i tried was.. put a parameter -4 in my query on my local
computer which is behind firewall, then the response came just as fast
as the computer outside the firewall..
By that i guess i can disable ipv6 since i dont use this on my dns
servers.. in order to make this to work propperly..
My version of powerdns is: 2.9.22.
Hope that some has a thought of what could be wrong in my senarie?
