i'd just think there would be something displaying: on this machine, with
this cpu, this ram, and this disk, and this number of domains loaded, here's
the max throughput, with these response times, memory used, number of
domains cached, blah blah blah. right now our boxes will each push 1400
req/sec at peak and they're all around 95% idle, and i feel analyzing that
to figure out how things would scale would be hard. if i was using 20% cpu,
then yeah i might be able to estimate, but i'd need to pound it to get a
good idea. hrmm.. speaking of, that might be a good idea. just take a few
hosts and see how hot i can get em :)
so hey, i guess, since there's nothing out there right now, i'll try to put
together a little performance sheet for the caching nameserver running on
some up-to-date hardware when i do more testing next week.
