Hey there,

I am currently working on new web based GUI for powerdns/gmysql-backend.
I thought it might be a good idea to announce it to the pdns mailinglist
as a good start. You can find some information and screenshots (rather
old ones, but at least something for now) if you follow the link posted
at the end of this mail - I will upload the first beta release soon (and
announce it on this list)!

I was just wondering what the community thinks about another/a new web
GUI - because when I did a little research quite a while ago I couldn't
find any suitable/good/up-to-date project that fitted my needs. We are
working on a setup with a pdns as a hidden-master and multiple public
BIND slaves. Since this server is never getting any direct requests
there are only master zones (no natives, no slaves) and this is
reflected in the current abilities of ZoneAdmin. Besides this minor
drawback it already supports zone templates, comments (per zone and per
record), temporarily enabling/disabling of zones, a history to track
changes to records/zones, apache authentication schemes (e.g. configure
apache to use ldap or mysql authentication and ZoneAdmin will use these
credentials for the history feature etc.)

It requires Apache, PHP, Smarty Template Engine, MySQL (relies on
InnoDB). It has only been tested so far on Debian Etch systems witch
Apache 2, PHP 5 and MySQL 5 but should also work on Apache 1.3 and/or PHP 4.

I'm looking forward to your feedback!
