Find below my thoughts and answers on your questions below. I assume I
will be corrected quickly should I get something wrong.

This is indeed a nice idea, Bert is this possible?

AFAIK you can configure the SQL queries that PDNS uses to select the
domain name from the relevant tables. This link should help you;
