[Pdns-users] CNAME to non locally hosted domain

Hi All,

Could someone explain to me how PowerDNS handles CNAME's that resolve to
a entry that is not part of a locally hosted domain.

For Example.

Domain: test.com
WWW IN CNAME www.remotedomain.com

Will PowerDNS inform the requestor that the domain entry (www.test.com)
is a CNAME to a remote domain (www.remotedomain.com) and just pass the
CNAME back and inform the requestor that they will need to do their own
lookup of the CNAME (www.remotedomain.com)?

Or

Will PowerDNS be required to use a local recursor to resolve the remote
CNAME (www.remotedomain.com) for the requestor?

Regards
Richard
