Hello Geoffrey, Why a new record? In my opinion ther is an other "easy" solution. If the serial number in the old style notation is 0 read it from the prio field. If this field is 0 to the serial is 0 :) If the old style serial is a non zero value use it and forget the prio field... ---- Kees
