[Pdns-users] LDAP backend problem

Well, I guess it's not the problem, first of all, I always use names, but
it's not names that are resolved by DNS server, they are all resolved by the
host file, I also tried to put an IP, even the localhost itself, 

I still get errors such:
Jan 17 01:40:32 [pdns] Query: 'bla.domain.co.il|ANY'
Jan 17 01:40:32 [pdns] [LdapBackend] Search failed: Error waiting for LDAP
result: Can't contact LDAP server
Jan 17 01:40:32 [pdns] Backend error: LDAP server unreachable
Jan 17 01:40:32 [pdns] [LdapBackend] Ldap connection closed
Jan 17 01:40:34 [pdns] Query: 'bla.domain.co.il|ANY'
Jan 17 01:40:34 [pdns] [LdapBackend] Search failed: Error waiting for LDAP
result: Can't contact LDAP server
Jan 17 01:40:34 [pdns] Backend error: LDAP server unreachable
Jan 17 01:40:34 [pdns] [LdapBackend] Ldap connection closed

It happens maybe 1 time per 10 queries, approximately,


Any other ideas guys?

It isn't a good idea to use a name instead of an IP address for connecting
to 
the ldap server - this may produce timeouts which might be your problem. Try

to use the IP (127.0.0.1 if OpenLDAP also listens on localhost).
