These came to me instead of the list; perhaps the List Admins can add
a "reply-to" header to list traffic?

Sorry to jump in, but I think I know what the problem is
powerdns uses sql queries, which may or may not, enumerate the types
of answers to a query.
Bind, to my knowledge, has to eliminate record types by hand.
So it just might be that the soa record matches the query, in this
case, and gets returned?
