This version might well become 3.0 with little or no modifications, so now
is the time to test!

Please download at:

    http://downloads.powerdns.com/releases/pdns-recursor-3.0-pre3.tar.bz2
                                     or
           http://svn.powerdns.com/pdns-recursor-3.0-pre3.tar.bz2

Once downloaded, the README contains exact build instructions.

For the latest updates, please read:

	- new documentation: http://doc.powerdns.com/built-in-recursor.html
	- the development blog: http://blog.netherlabs.nl/articles/category/powerdns
	- development timeline: http://wiki.powerdns.com/projects/trac/timeline

Remaining work before 3.0 is making Debian and Red Hat packages, adding
init.d script and converting the documentation to man pages.

Changes compared to before 3.0:
	- Massive performance increases
	- Tested on over 2 million internet connections
	- Vastly improved anti-spoofing measures and detection
	- Large amounts of statistics (see http://adsl-xs4all.ds9a.nl/rrd)

Changes compared to 3.0-pre2:
	- Added full IPv6 listening support, including access filtering
	- Fix 'removing fd not on list' error
	- Make TCP clients not time out while PowerDNS is doing work
	- Kqueue and epoll now work in --fork SMP mode
	- Solaris 10 now compiles and works out of the box
(to compile on Solaris 8, use CXXFLAGS=-DSOLARIS)
	- id.server / version.bind support, useful for clusters
	- top-remotes command to gain insight in most active clients

Thanks!
