[Pdns-users] NOTIFY problems

We ran into this same issue, we just noticed it today. We are running
2.9.17-13sarge1 on a Debian box. A customer notified us that his zone, for
which we do secondary DNS, was not
Updated properly in our system. In looking through the logs, we found the
message that we had received a valid notify for zonename from master
x.x.x.x, the same message you mention below.

I ran "pdns_control retrieve zonename" from the command line and it returned
"Added retrieval request for 'zonename' from master x.x.x.x". I was tailing
the logs at the time and nothing appeared in the logs. It usually happens
immediately. I tried another slave zone as well with the same result. I
restarted PDNS and ran the pdns_control retrieve command again and this time
it worked as expected. The only thing I noticed was that before I restarted
PDNS, there were only 7 threads running. After I restarted, there were 9.
I'm not sure if that had anything to do with it or not, but I thought I'd
bring it up.

Thanks,
Dave

After the first NOTIFY received, no more logging is done in the logfile
since about 8 hours. It looks like there is something wrong.

I'll try to compile your new powerdns version and see if the prolem goes
away.

Regards, Mario
