Is anyone using the pipe backend with PowerDNS 2.9.19-1? I am using
the example perl script (backend.pl) that came with powerdns just to
test it, when I send this query:
dig webserver.example.com a @<ipaddress>
I a server time out and get this in the logs:
Nov 9 18:50:07 dns pdns[3343]: About to create 3 backend threads for
UDP
Nov 9 18:50:07 dns pdns[3349]: Backend launched with banner:
OK Sample backend firing up
Nov 9 18:50:07 dns pdns[3351]: Backend launched with banner:
OK Sample backend firing up
Nov 9 18:50:07 dns pdns[3353]: Backend launched with banner:
OK Sample backend firing up
Nov 9 18:50:07 dns pdns[3343]: Done launching threads, ready to
distribute questions
Nov 9 18:50:40 dns pdns[3355]: Distributor misses a thread (4<3),
spawning new one
Nov 9 18:50:40 dns pdns[3349]: Backend error: Coprocess backend sent
incorrect response 'DATA webserver.example.com IN A
3600 -1 1.2.3.4'
Is the perl script not up to date with the latest protocol?
Thanks,
Sean
