I think I finally found out why it happens :-) It looks like the
ueberbackend is getting a little bit confused about IPV6 questions...
I compiled powerdns with verbose logging and attached the logfile to
this mail. the setup on yavo.net is almost the same as on kos2.de (on
the first post)...
yavo.net SOA <content>
yavo.net A <ip>
vbox.yavo.net CNAME home.yavo.net
*.yavo.net CNAME yavo.net
home.yavo.net A <another_ip>
I think these lines are the most interesting ones...
Jan 15 11:21:29 praha pdns[18153]: Remote 141.69.1.1 wants a type AAAA
(28) about 'home.yavo.net'
Jan 15 11:21:29 praha pdns[18153]: UeberBackend received question for
ANY of home.yavo.net
Jan 15 11:21:29 praha pdns[18153]: Query: 'select
content,ttl,prio,type,domain_id,name from records where
name='home.yavo.net' order by type ASC, prio A
...
Jan 15 11:21:29 praha pdns[18153]: UeberBackend received question for
ANY of home.yavo.net
Jan 15 11:21:29 praha pdns[18153]: Nothing found so far for
'home.yavo.net', do we even have authority over this domain?
there really IS a record for home.yavo.net in the database, so I don't
know (yet) why the ueberbackend is reporting that there is none
(although it says it's looking for ANY).
