I don't think the 'host' command supports non-standard ports, but the 
'dig' command does, with the -p [port] switch. You could try querying it 
as 127.0.0.1:[port], and see if that works, but the manpage (at least on 
my Debian sid desktop box) doesn't say anything about how to change the 
destination port.
