I'm currently merging your autoserial patch. I'm still on the fence
regarding the notification patch because I'm not sure if it is the right
thing to do. Somehow I think that just detecting 'sending packet to self' is
enough.

Apologies, I don't want to ignore you, it just happens sometimes..
