Hi Bert,
Would it be possible to create a separate Makefile target to strip
debug symbols from the binaries?
Right now it does this by default, which makes debugging very hard.
On Redhat and Fedora (and probably also other rpm based distros) we
strip the symbols ourselves, and create a separate debuginfo rpm.
Making it possible to use ${INSTALL} instead of install is also fine
with me, so i can override the options at install time.
