Your configuration is probably wrong. Please have a look at 
http://wiki.linuxnetworks.de/index.php/PowerDNS_OpenDBX_Backend_-_Installation

use something like this:
launch=opendbx
opendbx-backend=sqlite3
opendbx-host = /path/to/file/
opendbx-database = powerdns.sq3
